nestle Nestle, the world’s biggest food company, has removed beef pasta meals from shelves in Italy, Spain and France after tests revealed traces of horse DNA. Nestle is the latest in a string of major food producers to find traces of horsemeat in beef meals.

The fact that Nestle is now having to withdraw some foods shows the problem is far wider than previously thought.

Investigation suggests adulteration was not accidental but the work of a criminal conspiracy.
