Mo Yan, storyteller

Today the chinese storyteller Mo Yan received the Noble Prize in Stockholm. Earlier in the afternoon he was speaking during the traditional Nobel lecture at the Royal Swedish Academy in Stockholm, Sweden.

I was listening or rather reading the text since I don´t speak chinese. Before he started writing he told stories and writing them down didn´t come easy to him. He finished his lecture by saying: ‘For a writer, the best way to speak is by writing. You will find everything I need to say in my works. Speech is carried off by the wind; the written word can never be obliterated’  and told three short stories each one with a special message.

I know which book I would love to read during the Christmas days…..
